As a festival we’re not only social responsible for the people who are directly connected to us trough our work and the happening itself, but also for people who need our support in other fields.
That’s why we teamed up with Whole – United Queer Festival last year to donate some money for charity courses. Each of them is working in a crucial field to empower people along their way to achieve something better, to change the future and to simply act wow!
To underline that we fully support the important work which they are doing we donated 1.400€ to GLADT e.V. and each 400€ to the following organizations: TGEU – Transgender Europe e.V., TransInterQueer e.V., Hydra e.V., Berliner Obdachlosenhilfe e.V., Deutsche Wohnen & Co Enteignen, International Women’s Space, Queeramnesty Berlin, Trans*sexworks.
And we also supported our friends from Lemonaid & Charitea e.V. in their work again with 406€. It is utterly important to us to choose these partners wisely and to step into fields where equality, fairness and safety still needs to be fought for. Since the beginning Artlake Festival has been standing for a progressive culture that speaks up and takes a stand. It is mostly important for us that everything we do aligns with this conviction.
